Calculating MAU for federated tenants (billing)

Let’s say I have 3 tenants: Brand A, Brand B & Brand C, and I am going to use Brand A as the main federation tenant. This will mean the following:

  • On brand A, I can log in with an identity from Brand A
  • On brand B, I can log in with an identity from Brand A or Brand B
  • On brand C, I can log in with an identity from Brand A or Brand C

If a user logs in on Brand A website & Brand B website using their Brand A identity, this counts as 2xMAU.

My question is if user then logs in on Brand C (federated login using Brand A identity), does this count as a total of 3xMAU for the month, or 4xMAU?
(login into Brand A with Brand A identity, federated login to Brand B with Brand A identity, federated login to Brand C with Brand A identity)

Hey @margot , the MAU is based on unique users per tenant, based on their user IDs. If the user exists in all three tenants, that would be 3 MAUs in total.

This assumes that there is only one user in Brand A, that corresponds to those in Brand B and C.

Does that help?
