Verification email or reset password email arrives after around 4-5 hours. No custom email provider. We’d like to force email verification before signing in so the email needs to be instant. Any suggestions?

The Auth0 built-in email provider is ONLY for testing. It is not for production use.
I think there is an issue with email being delivered slowly, but since this is NOT for production use, it is not high priority.
You should switch to your own email provider for production.
