I have a Freshdesk account which I want to use Auth0 for SSO.
Can someone pls help me figure out what’s the difference between these two methods? Is it the same configuration but more user friendly with the marketplace app?

You’re correct, it’s the same configuration but the “SSO integration” from marketplace preconfigures some of the SAML2 Web addon parameters for you (this is true for almost every SAML-based “SSO integration” Auth0 offers). If you have a more complex use case you may end up having to configure it using the SAML2 Web addon directly to get the behavior you want.
