Overview
This article explains a key distinction when using the Microsoft Social Login option on the Auth0 Dashboard, requiring a personal Microsoft account for the Microsoft social login. When an attempt is made to use an Office 365 (work or school) account, the login may fail. The symptoms of this failure can include:
- Receiving an error message indicating the account type is not supported
- Redirection to an organizational login page that does not grant access to the Auth0 Dashboard
- The login process becoming stuck in a continuous redirection loop
Applies To
- Auth0 Dashboard
- Microsoft Social Login
Cause
The social login integration for Microsoft on the Auth0 Dashboard is designed to authenticate personal Microsoft accounts only. Office 365 accounts use different authentication flows and security policies that are not compatible with this social login mechanism.
Solution
Use a personal Microsoft account to sign in to the Auth0 Dashboard.
