BadRequestError when accepting enterprise tenant invite (existing free account)

Hi team,

I am receiving a BadRequestError when attempting to accept an invitation to my company’s enterprise tenant.

I believe this is causing a conflict because I already have a free Auth0 account associated with my corporate email. When I log in, I only see my free tenant, and the tenant dropdown is greyed out.

Troubleshooting I have already tried:

  • Generated a brand new invite link.

  • Attempted to accept the link in an Incognito/Private window.

Could someone please help look into this so I can successfully join my company’s tenant? I can provide my email and the target Tenant ID via DM to staff.

Thank you!

Hi @geng,

Welcome to the Auth0 Community1

I understand that you are encountering a "BadRequestError" when trying to accept an invitation.

Since your company wants to invite you to an enterprise tenant, I assume that your organization is also connected to an Auth0 Team. Therefore this "BadRequestError" can usually be resolved by checking the steps within this Knowledge Base Article - BadRequestError Occurs When Accepting Auth0 Teams Invitations.

  1. Check if your account was already invited, since otherwise it might cause the - Team Invitation Error The User Already Exists
  2. Request a new invitation from the Team Owner and accept it before the three-day expiration period.

I hope this helps, so please let us know if this did the trick!
Best regards,
Remus
