Add User Metadata to Universal Login

Is there a way to collect user metadata (specifically firstName and lastName) via the signup flow in the new Universal Login? Or can this only be done via the classic Universal Login?

Currently, we can only add custom fields on the SignUp page in the Classic Universal Login. This feature is not supported in the New Universal Login yet. This doc has the details:
