Use Office365 Accounts to Register/Authenticate to the Application

Problem statement

This article explains the limitations of signing up and authenticating with an existing Office 365 account, similar to the Google Social Authenticator flow.

Solution

The Office365 connection has been deprecated, and Microsoft’s recommendation is to set up an Entra ID (Formerly Azure Active Directory (AD)) connection. Read more on that here:

Alternatively, create a Custom Social Connection with Office365:

  • When users successfully authenticate with the IdP, a user profile will be created in the User Dashboard.
