My application is currently set to “email verification using link”, I wanted to change it to “email verification using code” but after I change that option, save the details and then refresh the site it resets back to “email verification using link”. I have set the custom email provider also it won’t help. I have tried using it with other account and problem is still same.
Any help would be very useful.

According to this thread, the email verification code is only available for MFA and very specific connection types.
