In the latest update about the Search API problems, it said:

If you were relying on certain query pattern that is not included here, please reach out to explaining your use case.

I tried emailing that address, and got the following failure reply:

We’re writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (searchapi-issues) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. A few more details on why you weren’t able to post:

  • You might have spelled or formatted the group name incorrectly.

  • The owner of the group may have removed this group.

  • You may need to join the group before receiving permission to post.

  • This group may not be open to posting.


I just check this internally and I was informed that your email message did reach us. Did you try an additional time after the first failure and no longer experienced an error?


Yeah - I tried three times, about 5 minutes apart (guessing that someone would remember to tick the “open for posting” box at some point).
