Reset-password widget/prompt not available or customizable with universal_login.html

Hi,

According to the documentation, the reset-password widget/prompt should be available and customizable. However, in reality, when using universal_login.html with the New Universal Login experience, this widget is neither available nor customizable.

Is there any workaround or official way to enable and customize the reset-password functionality in this context? Or is this simply not supported despite what the docs suggest?

Would appreciate any clarification or guidance.

Firstly, I would like to make sure that you are not trying to customize the reset-password page Classic Password Reset Page, since that might also be the point of confusion.

Otherwise, the reset-password prompt can be used to customized within the Universal Login experience in a few different ways:

  1. If you are just trying to edit the text elements you can do this directly using the Auth0 Dashboard or the Management API ( see Customize Universal Login Text Elements )
  2. Using the reset-password prompt when using Customize Universal Login Page Templates ( the recommended option for your use-case ). Please note that this requires a custom domain enabled and the changes to the prompt can only be updated with Management API using the Set template for New Universal Login Experience endpoint. Check this KB article that explains How to Customize the New Universal Login Page
  3. Using Advanced Customizations for Universal Login, which is currently in early access, but provides much deeper customization options
