Organizations limit in B2C Essentials – is it per tenant or per account?

Hello,

I am currently on the B2C – Essentials plan.

According to the pricing page, the B2C Essentials plan allows up to 10 Organizations.
However, I am trying to understand how this limit is actually applied.

Here is what I have observed:

  • I created 3 tenants under the same Auth0 account (within the allowed limit).
  • In one tenant, I was able to create more than 10 Organizations (11+).
  • No error or warning was shown in the Dashboard UI.
  • Each Organization is associated with its own Application and Database connection.
  • I tested this both when the tenant environment tag was set to Development and Production.
  • The behavior is the same in both cases.

Based on this, I have a few clarification questions:

  1. Is the “10 Organizations” limit applied per tenant, or per Auth0 account (across all tenants)?
  2. Is this limit currently enforced technically, or is it a contractual / licensing limit only?
  3. If more than 10 Organizations are created in a B2C Essentials tenant, is this considered supported behavior, or could it be restricted later?

I would appreciate clarification on the intended behavior.

Thank you.

Hello @ysichika,

Welcome to the Auth0 Community!

This limit is applied tenant wise.

This limit is constructed based on your subscription of choice, in accordance to our Pricing page.

I have checked the account settings tied with your community account, and the reason why you are able to create more than 10 Organization at this point is because you are still in the trial period, so in the first 21 days every new tenant benefits from all the features of an Enterprise agreement. However, after this trials ends, it is recommend to restrict your tenants to only 10 organizations, since your applications might be affected afterwards.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let me know!
Best regards,
Remus
