Have seen this error a few times for an important new customer, and have a call with them tomorrow so really need to fix asap. We are certain that the users logging in DO have a Microsoft account, and that they are using the email address associated with that account. See attached (email blacked out). Any ideas or explanations would be much appreciated!
Hi @alex54,
Welcome to the Auth0 Community!
Are you using the Microsoft Social connection and the client is trying to use a personal Microsoft account, or are you using one of the Enterprise Microsoft connections and the client is using his work email?
Have a good one,
Vlad
Thank you, Vlad! I didn’t set this up, but looks like we’re using a social connection (tried to attach or include screenshot, but unable to). Google auth has been working fine, but we’ve had these issues with Microsoft a few times now. The clients are using their Microsoft work email accounts. Does that not work with the Social connection? What should we do next?
Unfortunately Microsoft work email accounts don’t work with the Microsoft social connection since the strategy for it is using personal accounts.
As this post mentions, you will need to create a Microsoft Enterprise Connection instead of a Social one if you want work accounts to sign in.

Thanks Vlad. I’m getting stuck here. Any direction you can give on what the ADFS URL should be?
Hi,
You should be using the Microsoft Azure AD Connection instead of the ADFS one.
