Custom text at bottom of login page

Currently using the Universal Login with New Login Experience. We would like to add text at the bottom of the login page that displays information about the next downtime for our app.
We would need to have the page make a query ‘somewhere’ to get details about the next downtime. Would this be possible by modifying the page at Universal Login > Login > Customize login page?

Or would we need to create our own custom UI?

Any other recommendations to achieve this?

The easiest way to do this with New Universal Login would be to use the page templates API. This API allows you to update the login page, and could be done when you need to inform your users about something like the downtime you described.
