Controlling MFA Application Name on device enrollment

Hello, we are trying to configure an app to utilize MFA with the Classic Universal Login experience. We have configured the app and authentication is working, however when the user goes to enroll in MFA, the application that name comes up in the end-users Authenticator app is our tenant id rather than the friendly name of the tenant.

When using New Universal Login, the name of the enrollment matches the friendly name of the app, so I’m confused as to where this setting is controlled when using Classic Universal Login?

Hi @jgill,

Welcome to the Auth0 Community and thank you for your post !

From what i was able to check, unfortunately this seems to be a limitation of the Classic Universal Login, as mentioned in our Knowledge Article as well.

The workaround would be indeed using the Universal Login, for which case the friendly name of the tenant shows in the Authenticator App, but of course it’s up to you if you are willing to make this change.

Given the facts of the case, I definitely encourage you to create a Product Feedback of this issue and receive multiple votes so our engineering can take this into consideration and implement it in the future!

Thanks,
Remus
