Changed phones, cant switch authentication

Hi, i’ve been using The Auth0 guardian app to access Loadlink, i’ve just switched from an apple to an android phone and dont see a way to re-connect it to my new phone.

Hi @kody,

Welcome to the Auth0 Community!

In the context of the Auth0 guardian app, when you get a new device, the multi-factor authentication connection doesn’t transfer automatically for your accounts, such as Loadlink, for security reasons.

Here is how you can try to re-connect it:

If you still have access to your old iphone and can log into your Loadlink account, you can reset it yourself from your profile.

1.Log in using your old iPhone. Sign in to your Loadlink account using your existing Auth0 Guardian setup on your iPhone.

2.Access your profile in the top right corner of the Auth0 dashboard, click on your profile icon and select Your Profile.

**3. Before changing anything, save a recovery code just in case something goes wrong during the transfer.

4.Remove the old device: by scrolling down to the MFA factors section, locate your old device, and select the option to remove it.

5.Add your new phone by selecting the option to enroll a new factor. You will be prompted to scan a QR code using the Auth0 Guardian app on your new Android phone.

Otherwise, if you’ve already traded in or wiped your old iPhone and cannot log in, you won’t be able to reset this yourself unless you saved a recovery code when you first set up the app.

  • If you have a recovery code you can enter it on the login screen when prompted for your MFA. This will let you in, and you can follow the steps above to add your new phone.

  • If you do not have a recovery code you will need to contact Loadlink Support. They should have the ability to reset your MFA from their admin dashboard, which will prompt you to set it up like a new user the next time you log in.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let me know!
Best regards,
Remus
