Change Tenant Ownership of Free Plan Auth0

Greetings,

I am looking to give ownership of a current setup/dashboard to another Auth0 user. Given the fact that I use the free trial, it seems that I cannot invite another tenant and simply give them admin rights. Is there an existing process to follow?

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Our Pricing page mentions that Free tenants can have up to 3 Tenant Admins, so it should be possible to add someone else in order to transfer the tenant to them.

I recommend the reading through the following topic where my colleague share the steps to complete the transfer, but allow me to share them here as well:

  • Invite a new Dashboard admin with the “Admin” permission.
  • Have the new admin accept the invitation, log in and navigate to the Dashboard > Tenant Settings > Tenant Members section.
  • Click the “Remove” button under the more options icon next to the old admin (the tenant owner).
  • After removing the tenant owner, the new admin will become the new tenant owner.

Let us know if you were able to add a new Admin and have them removed from the tenant, so that ownership is transferred to them.

That is my current predicament. I have already seen and attempted what was suggested in the topic. As I try to follow through the given steps, I’m invited to add them via the Teams page in which I’m explicitely told I have reached the limit number of tenants.
