Hi Team,
The login screen required me to enable MFA for the Dashboard admin on my Free subscription. However, I would like to disable it as it is not very flexible for me.
How can I disable MFA for the Dashboard admin? Additionally, how can I stop the login process from forcing me to enable it again during the next login attempt?
There are several topics related to this in the search results, but either the pages with the proper procedures are no longer available, or it was suggested to DM some members of the Auth0 team to resolve the issue.
Could you please assist me with this?
Hi @wxcclabs and welcome to the Auth0 Community!
Have you tried following the steps described here? Please let me know if this doesn’t work so I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Teodor.
Hi @teodor.andrei,
Thanks for the link. I managed to remove MFA for my dashboard admin, but during the next login attempt, the process still requires me to enable MFA again suggesting 3 options (sorry, this form does not allow me to attach the screenshot for some reason):
- “Google Authenticator or similar“
- “Notification via Auth0 Guardian app“
- “Security Key“
Is there a way to stop MFA from being enabled on sign-in?
Kind regards,
Yura
Hi again @wxcclabs !
No, unfortunately, there isn’t a way to decline enrolling for MFA, as it is a crucial step to ensure the security of your tenant account.
Kind regards,
Teodor.
Thanks @teodor.andrei,
If there is no option to decline MFA enrollment, can I receive the OTP via email? I’m asking because I don’t see that option in the list.
Kind regards,
Yura
Hi again @wxcclabs !
I am not entirely sure, but since it is not in the list, I assume you cannot. That’s because email OTP is not as secure as the options presented for enrollment. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Teodor.
