Authorization Extension Deprecation

I’m looking to set up authorization with Auth0. The Authorization Extension seems to be what I’m looking for (this is largely down to the Group feature), but the documentation on it mentions that it will be deprecated this year following updates to the Authorization Core.

What I want to know is:

  • What is the timeline on this deprecation?
  • When the extension is deprecated, will I be able to migrate my roles and groups out of the Extension and into the Core?

Got an update for you.

We don’t have a target date for deprecation at this time. It is not likely that we’ll be providing features to migrate from the extension to core RBAC, but we will definitely provide guidance. Exact migration plans TBD once the team picks up this work.
