What will be replacing the Impersonation API?

So, I discovered that the Impersonation API has been deprecated.

Having auditable access to a system under another’s user account is a vital tool in the healthcare industry, so I’m wondering what plans there are to replace this API with something that allows this.

Currently, there is no alternative solution for impersonation since it’s deprecation. As far as I am aware a new version of the functionality is not in the roadmap. We will share any updates/changes/alternatives in the future if this changes.
