Overview
For monitoring or compliance reasons, it might be necessary to create a new tenant in a specific sub-locality (e.g., EU, EU-2, US, US-3, US-4) of a given region.
Applies To
- Tenant Creation
- Tenant Locality
- Auth0 Architecture
Solution
The tenant’s domain name is made up of the locality value from a region, which can be specified during tenant creation. However, tenant sub-regions or environments cannot be chosen manually, as indicated in our public documentation: Create Tenants - Region, locality, and sub-locality.
The sub-locality on which new tenants are instantiated in the Public Cloud is decided based on architectural design, using the capacity and size of different regions to ensure scalability and high availability of our services. Consequently, determining tenant subregion is an unsupported request.
More information about Auth0’s architecture and how we maintain high availability can be found in the following article: Auth0 Architecture: 5 Years In.
For Auth0 Private Cloud deployments, the specific region where a tenant’s data is stored can be chosen from a list of available regions.
