I would love to just hear a description of what this error means. What constitutes a ‘service’, what constitutes a ‘domain’? If I were an expert in OAuth, would I know what these two terms referred to?

The service could be an api or application that is trying to reach something within your domain. The domain could be a custom domain or an auth0 domain. I would be happy to trouble shoot the issue if you can provide some more context.
