Rate Limit Applied for M2M Authentications Calls

Overview

This article provides details concerning rate limits for M2M (machine-to-machine) authentication API calls with the /oauth/token endpoint.

Applies To

  • Rate Limits
  • Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Authentication

Solution

API Rate limits vary depending on subscription level and whether the tenant is on the public or private cloud and can be found here: Rate Limit Configurations.

M2M (machine-to-machine) calls do not have a specific rate limit. M2M requests count towards the global authentication API rate limits. As an example, the global authentication API rate limit for Enterprise customers is 100 requests per second (RPS) per tenant, so this limit is consumed with the M2M call.
