Hello, I noticed that 2 of the buttons in identifier first login arent translated in the universal login built in localization: Email me a Code, and Send me a message, is there a plan to include them in the translations, or is there a translation key for them atleast (cant find in documentation and dashboard)
Thanks
Welcome back to the Auth0 Community!
You noticed that two buttons in the identifier-first login flow are not translated in Auth0's Universal Login built-in localization: "Email me a Code" and "Send me a message." You want to know if there is a plan to include these translations, or if there are translation keys available for them.
These buttons appear to be missing from Auth0's built-in localization coverage for the identifier-first login flow. There is no documented translation key for "Email me a Code" or "Send me a message" in the current Auth0 documentation or dashboard. This appears to be a gap in the localization support for passwordless authentication methods in the identifier-first flow.
[Root Cause]
Auth0 provides built-in translations for core login and MFA screens. However, because Passwordless configurations span several specialized prompt boundaries, some buttons default to their fallback English strings when a specific locale’s customization has not been fully populated
[Solution]
You can update these keys using either of the following methods:
Option A: Via the Auth0 Dashboard (No Code)
-
Go to your Auth0 Dashboard.
-
Navigate to Branding > Universal Login > Advanced Options, and select Custom Text.
-
From the Prompt dropdown menu, select Login (Passwordless) .
-
Choose the language you want to translate.
-
Locate the Email Action Text and SMS Action Text fields (or search for the key values in the JSON custom text view).
-
Enter your translations and click Save Changes.
Option B: Via the Management API
To apply translations programmatically or across multiple environments, call the Set Custom Text for a Specific Prompt endpoint:
-
Endpoint:
PUT /api/v2/prompts/login-passwordless/custom-text/YOUR_LOCALE(e.g.,/custom-text/esfor Spanish){ "login-passwordless": { "emailActionText": "Enviarme un código", "smsActionText": "Enviarme un mensaje" } }
Once applied, Universal Login will serve these customized strings to matches on the user’s browser language header or your explicit ui_locales parameters
Kind Regards,
Nik
