I kind of already started building my React application but am not too far into the woods. In general though I am wondering best practice on what would be easiest: To build my entire application and then implement Auth0 or vice versa?

I would guess that most users add Auth0 to an existing application (moving from home grown, alternative service, etc.), but use cases really vary and it’s up to you at the end of the day 
I definitely recommend checking out our docs on adding Auth0 to your React application, and our React Quickstart as well as the accompanying sample app. Our docs on architecture scenarios are a great place to start as well.
