Hello, the current implementation of the impersonation feature is currently being overhauled
to address security concerns, hence why it is not enabled by default. We strongly recommend waiting for the new implementation, apparently there’s no ETA for this yet for more info about this: https://auth0.com/docs/user-profile/user-impersonation

The new version of Impersonation is scheduled to be available sometime early next year. The current implementation of the impersonation feature is only meant for development or troubleshooting purposes, as it is currently being overhauled to address security concerns, hence why it is not enabled by default. In case you need it for development we can indeed enable the current version for you now, but we don’t recommend putting it in production.

We have this in production as we implemented it when it was a feature, before it was removed by default, so we need to live with it until something else is available.
