I wanted to add the magic link to my app and I was trying to modify the template adding custom data from my ruby app, which could change regarding on the user, role, some conditions, etc. But I could not make it work & I did not see nothing in the docs about this. Is this possible to do? And how?

The template for passwordless can be customized, although it’s done differently than the other email templates. You can read the process at (Email Template Descriptions).
In conclusion, it’s possible to customize it, but the level of customization is limited by what is made available in terms of context (see the linked docs) so can’t say for sure if it will be enough for your specific use cases.
However, I would encourage you to open a new thread in the Product Feedback category explaining your use case. If the thread becomes popular among other community members, our product team will evaluate the idea.
Just to set expectations—while feature requests are reviewed periodically, there’s no guaranteed timeline for when (or if) something like this would be implemented in production, as it depends on factors like demand, security implications, and broader roadmap priorities.
