This article explains the purpose of the asterisk (*) symbol on the login widget after Email address and Password and whether it is possible to remove it.
Solution
The asterisk (*) symbol is a visual indicator on the New Universal Login widget to help clarify the obligatory items that must be filled out. This is implemented as part of WCAG 2.2 AA Compliance for Universal Login.
There is not an option to hide them from the login widget. Please leave feedback to suggest this functionality.
