You are referring to an enterprise connection. Enterprise connections authenticate users via an external IdP (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, PingFederate) that manages user identities and authentication.
A social connection is used for integrating with third-party social login providers (e.g., Google, Facebook, GitHub) to allow users to log in with their social accounts.
