Rate limits with staging vs production environment tag

I am looking to set up a staging environment for performance testing of my applications. This environment should ideally have access to production-like rate limiting from Auth0. Does the “staging” environment tag grant the environment production-like rate limits?

I’ve talked to support, and the answer is no, environments must be tagged as production to receive production-like rate limiting.
