I’m encountering an issue with Google social login. The first login attempt consistently fails with the error message: “Sorry, something went wrong there. Try again.” However, the second attempt always succeeds without any problems.
This behavior occurs reliably—only the initial login fails, while all subsequent attempts are successful.
If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has insights into how to troubleshoot and resolve this, I would greatly appreciate your input.
If the error appears on the Google Login screen and the user cannot get past it on the first attempt, the issue might reside on Google’s side. Check if the configuration is correct on your Google dashboard.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.
The configuration on google dashboard seems correct.
Our issue persists and it’s similar to “Not able to login 1st time when mfa is enabled gettiing error (mfa_required)”, although the solution presented on that post do not work for us.
Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed? Do you need more context?
It’s hard to pinpoint precisely where the problem comes from. Try testing the Auth0 Universal Login page separately, with a different connection, such as a database connection, and then test your Google setup in isolation.
