I recently purchased a subscription that supports a maximum of three tenants (Essential plan), however, my account is still on Free trial, so it is brand new
While setting up the subscription, I created and deleted two test tenants because their names had a typo and were not suitable for our intended environments. I am now attempting to create two replacement tenants with new names, but the Auth0 Dashboard displays the following error:
“Limit Reached. You have reached the limit for number of Tenants.”
Only one active tenant is currently visible in my account, so I expected the two deleted tenants to have released their allocated tenant slots.
Has someone been in this scenario before? Is this something that would fix after a time?
I understand that you have upgraded your subscription to an Essentials plan, however you are still seeing it as being on a Free Plan.
In general there should be no downtime from the moment you upgrade to when the new paid features become available, therefore the issue could lie somewhere else. Allow me to share some thoughts as to what you should check in order to resolve this:
log out of your Auth0 account and attempt to log back in with the same credentials as the ones used to upgrade the subscription;
you can log in our Support Center → Tenants and click on the Subscription tab, just left from " Notifications". This should open a drop-down view of all subscriptions available to you and allow you to see the tenants from each plan, including the Free plan;
access your Teams Dashboard and check if you have any tenants under the Team’s Subscription. This is also the place where you can bring additional tenants under the same subscription, in case it’s something you might be interested in, with more information available in our documentation on how to Manage your Auth0 Subscription Plan - Auth0 Docs
Please let us know if you were able to gain access to the correct resource and view your Essentials Subscription. Looking forward to your input!
Thanks Gerald, for the detailed steps. My issue seem that was triggered when i deleted the original tenant that was created at the moment of the subscription. It seems my plan was cancelled and put back into Free, this seems to be the culprit behind my Tenant limit. I will have a call with one of your support team later during the day so hopefully it will be sorted soon
