ID First not enabled for the client and "Use own Database"

I’m getting two incredibly random errors and I can’t find how I might have misconfigured things.

I’ve tried resetting a password and get an error. When I I look in the logs I see

You have turned the switch to use your own database instead of Auth0 and you have not implemented the "Change Password" script. Either implement it or make sure you turn off the "Use my own database".

But when I go into my settings, it is off

When I try to go through the sign-up flow I get the error below:

Which is true, it is off, but it was working not long ago and I don’t know why it stop.

Any ideas please team?

In case you’re wondering, I’ve deleted the Application and API and crated a new one, same issue

I hate myself - for future reference, if you set this field to email, all sorts of stuff go wrong
