Hi Auth0 Community! :wave:

We have updated the Auth0 Community’s gamification program, which now has more badges and allows community members to earn points and rank on a leaderboard. We will continuously monitor both all-time and monthly participation, rewarding community members with points and badges for their contributions. Each month, we will celebrate top performers through our Community Member Spotlight series.

Updated Participation Badges:

  • Solution Badges: Awarded to members who have their replies marked as a solution.

    • Tier 1 - Solved!: Having 1 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 2 - Solutions Seeker: Having 5 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 3 - Guidance Counsellor: Having 10 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 4 - Solutions Specialist: Having 25 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 5 - Know-it-all: Having 50 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 6 - Solutions Expert: Having 100 of your replies marked as a solution.
    • Tier 7 - Solutions Institution: Having 150 of your replies marked as a solution.

  • Contributor Badges: Awarded to members who have contributed to replying to topics.

    • Tier 1 - First reply: Provided 1 reply.
    • Tier 2 - Getting Involved: Provided 5 replies.
    • Tier 3 - Active Participant: Provided 10 replies.
    • Tier 4 - Community Advocate: Provided over 25 replies.
    • Tier 5 - Community Builder: Provided over 50 replies.
    • Tier 6 - Conversation Leader: Provided over 100 replies.

  • Topic Likes Badge: Awarded to members who have received likes on a topic.

    • Tier 1 - Liked topic: Received 1 likes on a topic.
    • Tier 2 - Popular topic: Received 5 likes on a topic.
    • Tier 3 - Nice topic: Received 10 likes on a topic.
    • Tier 4 - Good topic: Received 25 likes on a topic.
    • Tier 5 - Great topic: Received 50 likes on a topic.
    • Tier 6 - Viral topic: Received 100 likes on a topic.

New Badges:

  • Ask Me Anything Badge: Awarded to members who participated in the Community Ask Me Anything Series at least once during the event.

  • Community Catalyst Badge: Awarded to our elite contributors who lend their expertise, knowledge, and best practices to our growing online Community.

  1. What are badges?

    Badges in Auth0 Community are awards for achieving specific milestones or completing activities. They are displayed on your profile to recognize your contributions.

    You can earn badges by participating in various activities such as posting, liking, replying, and providing solutions in the forum.

Scoring System

  1. How does the scoring system work?

    Points (cheers) are awarded for performing certain actions in the Community. They accumulate over time and determine your rank on the leaderboard.

  2. How can I earn points?
    You can earn points by:

    • Creating new topics
    • Giving and receiving likes
    • Having your reply marked as a solution
    • Inviting others into the Community
    • The time you spent reading posts
    • Flagging topics
    • Days visited

  3. How is my rank determined?
    Your rank is determined by your total accumulated points during a certain time window (All-time, monthly, etc). The more points you earn, the higher your rank will be on the leaderboard. Ranks are updated in real time to reflect the latest scores.

  4. Can I lose points?
    Points are not typically deducted unless there is a violation of community guidelines, such as spamming or inappropriate conduct.

  5. How often is the scoring system reviewed?
    The scoring system is reviewed monthly for fairness and accuracy.

  6. Is there a time limit for earning badges or points?
    Some badges and points may be tied to specific events with time limits, while others can be earned at any time. Check the criteria for each badge or activity for specific details.
