  • Passkeys
  • Passwords

Solution

When passkeys are enabled within the tenant, a user can have both a passkey and a password.

  • Following the default sign-up flow, after entering their email address, the users will be prompted to Create a Passkey.

There are two options to enable both passkey and password for said user when starting the sign-up flow:

  1. Create the passkey, finish the sign-up flow, and log out. Now, when the user logs in again, they can press “Can’t log in to your account?” which will send a Change Password email. Finishing the change password flow will set the password.
  2. The user can select “Continue without passkeys,” continue to set up their password, finish the signup flow, and then log out. When the user logs in again, they will be prompted to set up a passkey.

Both scenarios will result in a user having a passkey and a password set up for their account.
