A similar question was asked here.
I tried to set a flag in app_metadata but it looks like both events happen at the same time so I cannot use the flag (it’ll always be undefined/false).

It sounds like your use case might be better suited for the use of Actions as opposed to rules:

Thank you. I’m actually using actions (Login flow).
I tried to use Post User Registration but this doesn’t work with social signups like Google. I had to resort to using the Login flow but I still get two events and I only need one of them.
