Can I change the icon of OTP registrations in Microsoft Authenticator or others?

I use Microsoft Authenticator to register MFA (OTP) with our Auth0 tenants.

When I scan the OTP QR code for an account in our tenant, the badge / icon / image is a graphical representation of the first two letters of the tenant friendly name (set on the settings page in Auth0 dashboard).

For example, scanning the QR code with Microsoft Authenticator if Friendly Name = 'Contoso' will add a Microsoft Authenticator ‘account’ (the OTP registration) where the account’s badge / icon / image is ‘CO’.

Is there any way to change this? We’d like to use our company logo.

See also: Azure authenticator account icon - company logo? on stackoverflow.com.

There, it appears that the account logos (of well-known companies and services) are embedded in the Microsoft Authenticator application.

Is it even possible to control the OTP registration’s badge / icon / image?

Hi @stevenvolckaert

Welcome back to the Auth0 Community!

I am sorry about the late reply to your inquiry.

As far as I have researched regarding your inquiry, this should be handled on Microsoft’s end, however it appears that the feature that you are looking for is not available on their end and it does not appear to be customizable from the developer’s end.

If you have any other questions on the matter, feel free to leave a reply or post on the community page!

Kind Regards,
Nik
