We have just learned that Microsoft is starting to deprecate BASIC authentication: Deprecation of Basic authentication in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn

SMTP is out of scope this year but in 2023 - all protocols will stop supporting BASIC authentication thus this might affect production setups where SMTP custom provider is using Office 365

I’m running into this issue today and realizing it represents a large and unexpected roadblock for us as we’re looking to fold Auth0’s email into our company’s Outlook365 and move away from another 3rd party provider.
