I’ve started to get this warning message for my passwordless SMS logins and I can’t find any info on what the issue is or what I ned to change or adopt:
“Allows use of legacy passwordless phone provider: This feature is being deprecated. Please see details.feature of this log for more information.”
My tenant has passwordless configured with Twilio and when I go to the passwordless config I see my Twilio settings but there’s also this warning message:
" No Valid Phone Provider Configured:
In order to use the SMS connection, you must configure a phone provider that supports ‘text’ as a delivery method."
Does anyone know what Auth0 is changing and has recommendations? I couldn’t find any info from auth0 or in the forum here.
Thanks for the help!
Hi @joffrey_sb
Welcome back to the Auth0 Community!
I do believe that the error that you’re seeing is related to the new Unified Phone Experience feature, which will be the recommended solution for phone providers moving forward and Legacy Passwordless would refer to the “old” specific provider.
From what information I was able to gather, there is no end date to this deprecation quite yet as we’re giving customers time to try out the new experience, switch back and forth as needed and test it out. This should not affect your service or cause any issues, eventhough seeing a warning message can understandably raise alarm bells ( thank you for your due diligence! ).
I do encourage you taking a look through our documentations about the new feature, which I linked above.
Hope this helped!
