There are no user specific variables used on the mfa-otp-challenge screen. So if user logs in with her email password and forgets where she needs to check, she would need a way to find the creds she is logging in for.
if ${email} variable can be made available in prompts it could help the user experience.

I understand the frustration regarding the variables not being available on all designated screen and prompts available under the Universal Login customization. There is an item in the backlog addressing this issue, however, it does not have any ETA.
The topic itself would be better suitable under the Product Feedback category. I would suggest submitting a feedback card if a similar one has not yet been posted regarding the matter!
