Splunk Log Stream Error "Could not reach endpoint"

Last Updated: Aug 13, 2024

Overview

When setting up a Splunk log stream, the following error is generated:

Could not reach endpoint

Applies To

  • Splunk
  • Error

Solution

Could not reach endpoint indicates a connectivity problem and should not occur if the Splunk token is simply correct. This error will not occur if there is a HTTP status code returned from the server.

It should only occur in the following cases:

  • Connection timed out;
  • TLS problem.

If “Verify TLS” is enabled, ensure the certificate is valid.

In the case of Private Cloud, check the connectivity from a local machine. If a connection is established from a local machine, it’s likely a connectivity problem on the instance. So please contact the Support Team to check the connectivity.
