Native Azure Enterprise Connection (SSO)

Hi,
I will be using Auth0’s enterprise connection with Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AD). A third party has asked me to describe how authentication and authorization will be performed for this SSO flow. I’m finding the documentation opaque on the nature of this native integration.

The native connection is performed via the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code Flow (see below). The link below talks only of authorization - So is authentication performed exclusively by AD and not by Auth0? Does this use OIDC? What does a ‘native connection’ actually mean?
