Customize Error Message Displayed to Users Who Are Blocked

Overview

By default, the new universal login experience will show the following error message:

Your account has been blocked after multiple consecutive login attempts.

This article provides steps on how to customize this message.

Solution

It is possible to customize this message by updating the user-blocked key of the login, login-id, and login-password screens (each found under the same prompt name).

  1. In the Auth0 Dashboard, go to Branding > Universal Login > Advanced Options
  2. Select Custom Text and select login from the Prompt dropdown.
  3. Update the user-blocked field with the desired custom message.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the login-id and login-password Prompts and Screens.
