Custom terms and conditions on SMS enrollment page (MFA)

Hi,

Our SMS provider for setting up SMS MFA has very strict requirements around the “opt-in” flow for users (like linking to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and custom text describing the number of messages that will be sent). We are currently using the new universal login pages, and would like to add language to this affect to the Auth0 MFA enrollment widget. Is there any way to do this currently?

Something like custom partials would be great here, but they only seem to be supported on the login and signup page (unclear to me why that’s the case). Are there any plans to expand support for partials to the remaining prompts?

Hi @ethan.lewis

Welcome to the Auth0 Community!

Regarding partials, at this time there is no plans to expand the support for other prompts.

Regarding your implementation, there are some possible solutions:

  • Update the text customization for the MFA enrollment screen under Branding → Universal → Advanced login to reflect some of the required legal language. This might not be ideal, but it is a partial solution for the issue at hand.
  • Use a PostLogin Action Trigger which will redirect the user to a custom consent page where they will be prompted to accept and acknowledge the TOS and Privacy terms then redirect back to Auth0 continuing the MFA enrollment process.
  • Build a From which will present the user with a consent page. Once the form completes, in the OnContinuePostLogin block, start MFA enrollment if the user agreed to the TOS and Privacy policy or deny access if rejected.

I hope the information above is helpful on the matter, if you have any other questions, let me know!

Kind Regards,
Nik
