Here in the Auth0 Community, we love seeing our developer ecosystem thrive, both online and in the real world. Over the past year, we’ve watched the incredible grassroots initiative take shape: Camp AI.
What started as a simple, high-impact vision to create an authentic space for builders, founders, and innovators, in the AI space to connect has rapidly grown into a global community phenomenon. Recently we caught up with Calah and Shreya from our Developer-Led Growth team to look back at the whirlwind year of Camp AI, celebrate what they’ve accomplished, and talk about where this journey is heading next.
Meeting Developers, Vibe Coders to Enterprise, Wherever They Are:
While the first three Camp AI events kicked off in San Francisco, the Developer Led Growth team was quick to recognize that brilliant minds shaping the future of AI aren’t just concentrated in just one zip code. In fact, some of the most passionate developers and “vibe coders” are building incredible things in New York, London, Seattle, Tokyo, Las Vegas, and beyond.
During the pandemic, the tech world naturally shifted virtual. While digital platforms allowed us to all stay connected, Calah and Shreya knew that developers were hungry for genuine, face-to-face interaction.
“We’ve always been deeply invested in community-building events," says Shreya, Sr Developer Advocate for Startups. "We knew during the pandemic that people had to go virtual, but we also recognized that the heart and soul of Auth0 was built on in-person connection—meeting people everywhere.
Putting Customers in the Driver’s Seat
Camp AI was never meant to be a one-way lecture or a standard corporate presentation. From day one, the heart of these events has been the customer voice. We intentionally build our agendas around live, raw developer demos from startup program members who are actively wrestling with AI architectures, custom identity requirements like introducing custom claims.
Instead of polished slides, our attendees step up to showcase real-world builds – like integrating python AI agent frameworks with the Auth0 Token Vault – openly sharing what worked, what broke, and how they solved it. By bringing Auth0 engineers, advocates, and solution architects directly into the crowd, we’ve created a unique feedback loop. It’s a space where builders can bypass the usual ticket queues and solve complex identity and security challenges in real-time, engineer-to-customer. Whether that’s debugging a CORS cross-origin redirection policy error, configuring a VK Auth plugin, or transitioning to claimed HTTPS URIs.
Top Moments from the Year:
We asked Calah and Shreya to share some of the standout highlights that defined Camp AI’s inaugural year. Here are the moments they’ll never forget:
- High Energy & Full House in San Francisco (February 2026)
Kicking things off in SF we expected a great turnout, but the sheer volume of the community response blew us away. They welcomed a packed house with hundreds of passionate builders. The energy in the room was electric, the panel chatter was loud and organic, and the excitement there proved there is a real, urgent need for this kind of community.
- Scaling Up with Awesome Partners:
Putting these events together takes incredible effort behind the scenes. As attendance quickly surpassed local venues, they began partnering closely with great companies like Datadog and Cloudflare to co-host and manage the logistics. This collaborative approach allows us to keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on the developers and the cutting-edge technology they are building.
Where Should Camp AI Go Next?
It’s been a phenomenal first year, but we are just getting started. As we continue to sketch out our road map for the upcoming year, we don’t want to plan it in a vacuum, we want to build it with you!
We already have our eyes set on vibrant developer hubs like New York, Seattle, Tokyo, and Las Vegas, but we want to know where the demand is strongest.
Where should Camp AI pack up and head next year?
