Passwordless Login Using Google Authenticator

Hello, is it possible to implement Passwordless login using Google Authenticator (or similar) instead of email or SMS? So instead of users entering a OTP that has been emailed to them, they enter the OTP from a Google Authenticator app, or similar app. If not natively, could the functionality be achieved via a rule? Thanks.
