New user basic setup guide

I have just started with auth0 and would like a basic primer on how to go from nothing to a working site.

I would like to password protect a reverse proxy (apache) so that it would present a username/password dialog and allow the user through if successful. What are the steps involved from a new users point of view.

Welcome to the Community. For your Apache reverse proxy you are going to want to check out mod_auth_openidc, but to get you up to speed on the basics of Auth0 which you will want to be familiar with before trying to set up mod_auth_openidc, try one of the Quickstarts.
