Email as primary MFA method

Is there any way I can have email as the main mfa type without having to use Google Authenticator or another factor?

I’m having problems with the magic email not being sent promptly to my end users and so I’m switching to the email+password login method. I want to be able to verify that the end user has access to their email account when logging in so mfa with Google Authenticator doesn’t quite address my requirements.

Thanks for your help.

Email cannot be set as the primary MFA method. It can only be used as a backup method as it can be accessed on the same device that the user is originally authenticating from.

Are you using your own email provider?

If you’re using the built-on Auth0 email provider, you may be experiencing issues as it’s intended for testing purposes only.

Thanks for your prompt response. Yes we are using Mandrill as our email provider.

How much of a delay are you seeing?

When you compare the events recorded in your tenant logs to Mandrill’s logs, do you see a discrepancy?
